Don specialises in litigation. Before joining Cuncannon, he practised at New Zealand’s Crown Law Office, where he acted on appeals involving serious crime and routinely appeared in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. He was previously a Judge’s Clerk to the Hon Dame Justice Glazebrook in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and a junior barrister to a King’s Counsel.
Don holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland, where he graduated first in his class. He also holds an LLM (Hons), for which he was awarded several scholarships, examining interactions between the common law, tikanga Māori, and Chinese culture.
Don has good conversational fluency in Mandarin.
